Party planning - Pirate Party

I am going to be very busy crafting this month! Kaden is having a Pirate Party for his 4th birthday and of course because I'm crafty cheap, I want to do everything myself. I spent a fortune on stationary last year, and it was all stuff I could have done myself. Don't get me wrong it was awesome, but I could have done it myself. So this year I am. Here is a sample of the cupcake toppers, thank you tags and the invites that I made.
Okay, that got a little distorted, but you get the idea. I took out our address and other personal info, you know to protect us from stalkers and what not.
I have a long list of things to do for this party and I have just under a month to get it all done. Next up, making a shirt for me to wear to the party. Wish me luck!

Science Experiment - soap clouds

I love Pinterest!! I saw this little experiment on there last week and thought it would be really cool to try.
Apparently you can microwave Ivory soap and it will turn into a cloud looking thing. So I ran to the store and grabbed some Ivory soap.
Then we put it in the microwave on a paper towel, turned it on and watched it grow.

I can't remember how long it was in there for, but we decided to stop it before it touched the sides of the microwave.
Kaden wasn't too sure of it, but I thought it was cool. We asked him if he wanted to play in the bath with it, but he wasn't interested. So I added some water back in to it and turned it into a soap ball.
Here is a link to original post that I saw this on. http://www.ourbestbites.com

Train Rides

Kaden still loves playing in/on the Thomas the Train my dad built for him last year for his birthday. In the last month he has decided that he is the Conductor and that we all need to go for train rides. He takes us to the Ice Cream shop and to the park. He even got my dad in there when they were over on Easter.
All Aboooooard!

Cool Dude

Kaden loves riding his Big Wheel, he asks to ride it every day. So we went for a nice ride around the block yesterday. He of course had to wear his cool new shades!

Busy, busy, busy!

April has been a busy month and it has flown by, I can't believe the month is already over. I had planned on blogging more this month, and well as you can see, that didn't really happen. My husband has been working from home a lot in the evenings, and I have not had access to the computer. I kick and scream about this an a regular basis, but it's not getting me anywhere.

Okay enough about my problems, here's what we've been up to this month.
Easter Egg Hunts (3) and coloring eggs (2)
First egg hunt and egg coloring was at Chris' parents house

2nd egg hunt and egg coloring was at our house, with a couple of Kaden's friends

And the 3rd egg hunt was also at our house Easter morning
Then we made breakfast "silly pancakes"

And then my parents came over, they brought Kaden a giant egg.

We also went to Disneyland a couple of times and just goofed around.

Community Village

As I mentioned in my last post (you know sometime last month), I was able to volunteer at Kaden's Preschool last month for their community village. It was very cool and the kids all loved it! They had a little town set up with a grocery store, hospital, fire station, trike wash and much more. The kids got to play in the town all morning and even got to eat their snack at the little cafe that was set up. I was so glad to be able to help out and also get to see Kaden play with his friends at school. Here are some pix from the day.

MIA

I'm not sure if anyone will read this, but here goes...

I have been MIA for some time now, things have been pretty crazy at work and busy at home, I just haven't had time to sit down and blog. My goal for next month is to try to get back into posting. I like posting about what we have been up to and of course I love posting pictures of Kaden. I had a chance to volunteer at his school earlier this month and I got some great pictures of him playing with his friends. I'll share those in another post.

So, keep your eyes peeled...maybe I will even write a post about what/who Chicken Pie is??
